For Readers

Western Historical Romance Book Club: A rowdy herd of writers and readers who've banded together on Facebook.

Goodreads: A community of readers who offer each other recommendations based on preferences and interests. Members may keep track of what they've read and would like to read, form virtual book clubs and discussion groups, answer book-related trivia and more.

LibraryThing: A worldwide, multilingual community of 1.2 million book readers, LibraryThing allows users to create virtual catalogs of all the books they've read and want to read, with links to the tomes at nearly 700 virtual libraries and bookstores. Lists of up to 200 books are free; longer lists require incredibly affordable membership ($10 per year or $25 lifetime). Publishers frequently offer members advanced reader copies of new books in exchange for reviews.

SavvyReaders: Devoted to everything romance, SavvyReaders allows users to search an enormous collection of romance novels by title, author, publisher, sub-genre, theme and several other criteria. Readers will find synopses, aggregated reviews and links to buy.

Shelfari: Describing itself as "a community powered encyclopedia for book lovers," Shelfari is free and allows members to connect with each other and authors, keep track of what they've read and would like to read, and share information.
